Safe motherhood

In February 2008, the annual IFMSA-NL congress theme was Safe Motherhood - A life threatening matter. The organizing committee launched a photography contest for Dutch medical students in exchange programmes abroad. They were encouraged to send in their three best photos and explain why those pictures fitted the theme ‘Safe Motherhood’. Winner of the 80 participants was Mike Bloem, of whom two pictures were published on the middle pages of Global Medicine 5.
